Open banking
A secure way to pay directly from your bank account, authorised through your own bank, without sharing card details.
Open banking lets you make a payment straight from your bank account by authorising it through your own bank's login — no card numbers, no manually typing account details. In New Zealand this is delivered through licensed providers such as Akahu.
Because the payment moves bank-to-bank and is approved by the payer directly, there are no card networks in the middle and no chargebacks weeks later. It is faster and cheaper than cards, and pairs naturally with escrow.
CASHBOX uses open banking to fund escrow payments: the buyer approves the payment in their banking app and the money goes straight into the CASHBOX trust account.
